The Inside Out 2 character designer, who also worked on the original movie, provided some designs of the feelings left out of the follow-up.

Before Inside Out 2 opened in theatres, anticipation for the film was greater than ever. It's hard to believe that nine years have passed since the premiere of Inside Out, one of kids' (and many adults') favourite Pixar animated movies. Riley is an animated picture that takes us on a wonderful journey as it depicts the joys and difficulties of growing up through Riley's eyes. Riley's feelings resurface to describe the protagonist's adolescence in detail, adding a few details along the way. The latest additions are Anxiety, Envy, Boredom, Embarrassment, and Nostalgia, joining Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. It was through the Pixar character designer Crystal Kung's biography that we learnt there were meant to be more, including Suspicion, Awe, and Guilt. In fact, the designer posted some drawings of similar feelings that she had made during the production of the Inside Out sequel to her Instagram page.

In two of the sketches of Guilt, a round, purple character with oval features is seen carrying a bulky bag on his shoulders. On the other hand, Suspicion was prepared with six options. The character with many eyes and a helmet, numbered three, is undoubtedly our favourite. Though it appears to be the least developed of the three, awe nonetheless has the power to astound us. Here, the drawings are inspired by a charming, plump infant, an optimistic surfer, or an early Keanu Reeves.

Prior to displaying the drawings of the rejected feelings, Crystal Kung also shared a picture that took fans behind the scenes of Nostalgia, one of the most intriguing characters in the recently released animated movie. Nostalgia is a character with soft white hair and pink glasses who finally makes her big screen debut. Even after seeing Kung's sketches, the finished product in the theatres still took us by surprise and satisfied us. We simply hope that the additional emotions that might be included in a potential Inside Out 3 won't have to wait another nine years to be revealed.
