Double iSmart

Double iSmart is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language science fiction action film directed by Puri Jagannadh, co-produced with Charmy Kaur under Puri Connects. Serving as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit iSmart Shankar, the film features Ram Pothineni in the lead role and marks Sanjay Dutt's Telugu debut as the main antagonist. The cast also includes Ali, Kavya Thapar, Sayaji Shinde, and Bani J. The music is composed by Mani Sharma, with cinematography by Gianni Giannelli and Shyam K. Naidu, and editing by Karthika Srinivas.

Double iSmart was released theatrically on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Indian Independence Day. Unfortunately, the film received negative reviews from critics, who criticized its script and execution, ultimately leading to it being labeled a box-office bomb.

The film was officially announced on May 14, 2023, with principal photography starting on July 12, 2023. A grand launch event in Hyderabad preceded the filming, which wrapped its first schedule on July 31, 2023, with action sequences filmed in Mumbai. The second schedule took place in Thailand in August. Production faced delays due to financial constraints but later resumed. Notably, the climax was shot in Mumbai, featuring a lavish set constructed at a cost of ₹8 crore.

While Double iSmart aimed to capitalize on the success of its predecessor, it struggled to connect with audiences, resulting in a disappointing box office performance and critical reception.
